Human Resources Intern

The HR intern will directly assist the Hogarth NY HR Department in a variety of functions including HR compliance, onboarding/orientation, terms, employee benefits, and employee relations.  In this position, the intern will be able to gain an educational and practical understanding of the role HR plays in an agency environment.


  • Payroll and benefits administration
    • Assist in processing payroll change forms, ensuring appropriate approvals and compliance with all SOX, federal, and state regulations
    • Work with the Payroll Accountant to ensure effective communication between departments to manage all employee data and payments
    • Manage benefits administration – enrollments, changes, terms, and communications
    • Maintain employee files
  • Employee relations
    • Provide support with managing new hire and term processing including managing paperwork and assist with facilitating orientation and exit interviews
    • Analyze exit interviews and turnover for trends to enhance employee satisfaction and engagement
    • Facilitate employee learning and compliance programs
    • Participate in the social committee to develop the Hogarth NY corporate culture
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Participate in the recruiting process as required
    • Support the talent acquisition team with job postings, recruiting events, and data management

Job requirements:

  • Interest in HR/Talent Development and Training field
  • Ideal candidate has or is pursuing a degree in Business Admin, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Psychology, Training or Related Concentration Area
  • Use discretion to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems under pressure
  • Results-driven and strategic
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
  • Outstanding computer skills including Powerpoint and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
